Updated 2026-09-17. No ranked winner.
MakeWash is pressure-washing-only software published as free today with a future $49/month per-business floor. Housecall Pro is a horizontal FSM with a pressure-washing industry page and Basic at $59/$79. Those units are not interchangeable, so this page does not name a winner. Figures are from vendor pages checked 2026-09-17. We have not tested either app.

Two products
This is a wash-native launch product with a published $0 bill and a stated later $49 floor versus a horizontal home-service FSM with a dedicated pressure-washing page and Basic / Essentials / MAX stickers. A PW URL is not a wash-native spec sheet. The products do not sell the same units.
See the MakeWash and Housecall Pro profiles for documented functions, still without a field test. This page is a two-product comparison only.

How you pay
MakeWash publishes $0 today and a later per-business floor. Housecall Pro sells named plans with a fixed included-user count and a published MAX extra-user add-on. You cannot subtract one published dollar from the other and get a breakeven.
On 2026-09-17, MakeWash /software still showed Free today · $49/mo when paid and FAQ “$49 per month per business,” while Housecall Pro /pricing still showed Basic $59/$79, Essentials $149/$189 (5 users), and MAX $299/$329 (8 users) with MAX extra $35/mo.
| Plan | Users included | Extra users | Annual (per mo) | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 1 | n/a | $59 | $79 |
| Essentials | 5 | GAP (not printed on this fetch) | $149 | $189 |
| MAX | 8 | $35/mo each | $299 | $329 |
The 1-user floor is Basic at $59/month billed annually or $79/month monthly. MAX extra users print *$35/mo per additional user on the live card. Essentials on-card overage beyond 5 users was not printed tonight. That overage is a GAP. Do not reuse stale $100 Essentials or $75 MAX extra-user figures from older fetches. Pricing-page promo badges (Save $53 / $163 / $690 and similar temporary stickers) are marketing, not sticky floors. Prefer $59/$79 · $149/$189 · $299/$329.
| MakeWash status | Users | Monthly | Yearly (as published) | Caps / extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free today | GAP | $0 | n/a | Calculator, playbooks, and early workflows. No card to start. Not a forever-free SLA. |
| When paid | GAP | $49/mo per business | No annual SKU published | One month of notice. FAQ: $49 per month per business. |
MakeWash processing percent, card / ACH / instant fees, and multi-seat paid rules are a GAP. How many seats sit on the paid $49 plan is a GAP. No published payment % rate card sits on the fetched MakeWash home, software, or about pages. Home JSON-LD names Stripe. Stripe % is a GAP.
Worked examples (published units only)
These rows use only published subscription units. They are arithmetic framing, not a field test and not a winner.
A. MakeWash $0 today versus Housecall Pro Basic $59/$79. MakeWash’s $0 bill is a launch floor with no published estimate or satellite cap on the fetched pages. Housecall Pro Basic is $59/month billed annually or $79/month monthly for 1 user. A $0 launch sticker is not the same stack as a one-user Basic card.
B. MakeWash future $49 versus Housecall Pro Basic $59/$79. MakeWash’s stated later floor is $49/month per business, with no annual SKU. Housecall Pro Basic is $59/$79 for 1 user. A $10 or $30 monthly gap is not a like-for-like ops stack: seat rules, satellite, route, QBO, and chem claims differ.
C. Housecall Pro Essentials $149/$189 / 5 users versus MakeWash unpaid seat GAP. Housecall Pro Essentials is $149/$189 for 5 included users. MakeWash does not publish paid multi-seat rules. Do not invent a MakeWash multi-seat paid total. Do not invent a six-user Essentials total. Do not invent an Essentials versus $49 breakeven.
D. Housecall Pro MAX $299/$329 plus $35 versus MakeWash seat GAP. MAX is $299/$329 for 8 included users, then $35/month per additional user. MakeWash seat math stays unpublished. Do not invent a nine-user MakeWash total. Do not invent a MAX-plus-one versus $49 breakeven.
Feature comparison
Satellite takeoff, chemistry, routing, books, payments, seats, and trial friction sit on different published units. Do not treat a row on one card as a row on the other.
Payments
PressureWashStack does not earn commissions or affiliate revenue. Links on this page are ordinary vendor URLs, not tracking links. See the affiliate disclosure.
QuickBooks Online
Direction, objects, unpaid invoices, and Desktop stay on the QuickBooks guide. This page locks the published gates.
Trials and $0 language
Those offers are not interchangeable. A launch $0 product with a stated later $49 floor is not a no-card 14-day MAX preview.
Who each fits
These are fit notes against published units and documented claims. They are not awards. Who each fits depends on free-today PW-only chem and per-sqft versus published sticker floors and plan-gated wash-day tooling.
This page does not rank a winner. Quote MakeWash at the published $0 / $49 units and quote Housecall Pro at the plan that lists the feature you need, then compare the written totals. What we did not do
We have not run these products on a live wash route. We are not recommending a single product. We are not publishing star ratings.
We did not redo the solo operator guide, the free software guide, the soft wash guide, the small-team soft-wash CRM guide, MakeWash vs Jobber, MakeWash vs QuoteIQ, MakeWash vs CrewNest, MakeWash vs Opervo, Housecall Pro vs Jobber, QuoteIQ vs Housecall Pro, Opervo vs Housecall Pro, Workiz vs Housecall Pro, or the QuickBooks guide. Those pages stay the workflow, $0 taxonomy, soft-wash taxonomy, other two-product bake-offs, and QuickBooks taxonomy. This page is the MakeWash versus Housecall Pro bake-off only.
We did not invent MakeWash card, ACH, or instant percent fees. We did not invent a MakeWash Stripe %. We did not treat $0 today as a forever-free SLA. We did not invent an in-product satellite aerial measure SKU. We did not invent a MakeWash QBO integration. We did not invent a MakeWash multi-seat paid total. We did not declare that free-today has ended because home JSON-LD prints 49.00. We did not invent a Housecall Pro satellite takeoff or SH dilution calculator. We did not reuse stale $100 / $75 extra-user figures as tonight’s card. We did not invent an Essentials extra-user dollar. We did not treat pricing-page promo badges as sticky floors. We did not treat Housecall Pro “35% revenue” or “8+ hours” copy as proof. We did not invent a breakeven from a launch $0 / later $49 floor and a Basic / Essentials / MAX sticker. We did not describe MakeWash as a finished Housecall Pro-class FSM. We did not wire affiliate CTAs or tracking URLs.
